This is arguably the most common SEO blunder I see in the blogosphere.
Search engines are increasingly emphasizing quality above quantity.
Producing one well-written, well-organized blog article that truly benefits your readers is vastly superior to writing ten hurried, poorly written, disorganized, low-quality pieces.
Prioritizing quality over quantity is the cornerstone of a solid SEO strategy in 2022.
To rank number one on Google these days, just be the best result.
And, no matter how effectively you handle the other aspects of SEO, the best result will never be a badly written, sloppy, or extremely short post!
People use Google to find solutions to their difficulties.
If you want your blog entries to rank well in Google, make sure they solve actual problems for your target audience.
One of the most common SEO errors I see writers make is writing what THEY want to write rather than what THEIR READERS want to read.
If you want to rank high in search engine results, you need to start thinking like your viewers – what do they want to read about?
What are their issues?
Where are the snags?
Simply focusing on fixing your readers’ problems and producing genuinely fantastic solutions to their problems will bring you a long way toward truly AWESOME SEO in 2022.
However, it is not only about your NEW material.
Search engines are more concerned with sending their searchers to results from websites where ALL of the material is good.
If your website has low-quality, out-of-date information, it will stymie your SEO efforts — even if your fresh entries are excellent!
Begin the practice of examining your previous material regularly.
Concentrate on your older material and pieces that receive little or no traffic.
Ideally, you should aim to rescue outdated material by improving and updating it so that it is of good quality, current, and useful to your audience.
However, if a blog post cannot be salvaged, there is no reason to maintain it, therefore click DELETE.
Consider this to be blog pruning.
It stings a little, but it will eventually help your site grow and thrive in the long run.
If you want to build your blog through organic search traffic, you must conduct keyword research.
How would you know whether anyone is looking for the topic you’re writing about if you don’t undertake keyword research BEFORE you start writing your blog post?
You can do everything else correctly, but if you don’t conduct keyword research to ensure that there is enough search traffic, you can be wasting your time.
Remember that you can rank first for a search keyword, but if no one uses that search term, your blog article will receive NO organic traffic!
Another common keyword research blunder made by bloggers is choosing overly competitive search phrases.
When studying your selected phrase, run a Google search on that term and look at your possible competitors – do you have a chance against them?
If they’re all large, powerful sites, it’s usually best to go with a less competitive term.
The last error individuals make with keyword research is focusing on only ONE term.
While it is important to have a target keyword for which you primarily optimize, you should also optimize your blog post for synonyms of that keyword as well as other keywords.
A blog article may (and should) rank for several keywords.
It is not enough to conduct keyword research; you must USE those keywords in strategic locations throughout your site.
Make sure your target keyword appears in your URL (ideally), title, opening paragraph, at least one image alt tag, at least one subheading, meta description, and spread (naturally) throughout your blog article.
Use secondary keywords and synonyms naturally throughout the text, as well as in headers and picture alt tags.
It used to be a decent SEO strategy to just repeat your keyword phrase throughout your blog content.
Not any longer!

Many bloggers will have more ‘thin content’ tag archive pages than excellent quality blog entries – and this may harm your SEO!

Another common blunder I observe is bloggers failing to pay attention to their internal linking structure.
In 2022, this is a massive no-no.
To begin, make sure that all of your blog entries have internal links going to them.
Search engines need links to index pages and posts, thus if no internal links are connecting to a post, it will be difficult for search engines to locate and index.
Orphaned postings are those that have no internal links leading to them.
On your blog, you should strive to have no orphaned entries.
Furthermore, when determining the relevance of a post, search engines take into account the number of internal links referring TO that post.
A blog post with no links will be regarded as unimportant by search engines.
Conversely, you should ensure that the most significant material on your website is also the stuff with the most internal links leading too it.
Each category you write about should ideally have one cornerstone piece – some type of ultimate guide to that topic – and all subsequent entries in that category should link back to your cornerstone article.
